WHY CONVERT JPG TO PNG?
LOSSLESS FORMAT
PNG uses lossless compression, preserving every pixel exactly as-is. No more generation loss from repeated saves. Ideal for graphics, screenshots, and images that need pixel-perfect accuracy.
ADD TRANSPARENCY
Make any color in your image transparent. Perfect for removing solid backgrounds from logos and graphics.
BATCH SUPPORT
Convert multiple JPG files at once. Parallel processing with ZIP download for all results.
ALPHA CHANNEL SUPPORT
Unlike JPEG, PNG supports full alpha channel transparency. Layer your images over any background in design tools, presentations, and web pages.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT JPG TO PNG
JPEG is the most widely used image format, optimized for photographs with lossy compression. While this produces small file sizes, each save cycle introduces additional quality loss. Converting to PNG preserves the current state of your image in a lossless format, preventing any further degradation.
The most significant advantage of PNG over JPEG is transparency support. JPEG images always have solid, opaque pixels. PNG supports a full alpha channel, allowing pixels to be partially or fully transparent. Our converter includes an optional color-to-transparency feature that lets you click on any color in your image to make it transparent, with adjustable tolerance for selecting similar shades.
Note that PNG files are typically larger than their JPEG counterparts since PNG uses lossless compression. This trade-off is worthwhile when you need pixel-perfect quality, transparency support, or plan to do further editing without accumulating compression artifacts.
