What does an image to prompt tool do?
An image to prompt tool looks at a picture and writes a text prompt that could produce a similar image in an AI image generator. It is sometimes called “reverse prompting”. It is useful when you find a photo or artwork whose mood you love but cannot put into words, when you want to recreate your own earlier result, or when you want a starting point that you can edit instead of writing from a blank page.
Vynoe does this in two steps. First, a vision model analyzes your image and writes a detailed description: subject, setting, composition, lighting, colors, style and mood. You can read this description on the page. Second, a language model rewrites that description in the format your chosen image model prefers. Different models respond best to different writing styles, which is why a single generic description is often not enough.
How prompt styles differ between models
- Midjourney
- A single line of vivid, comma-separated phrases, ending with parameters such as an aspect ratio flag (for example --ar 16:9).
- Nano Banana (Gemini image)
- Full natural sentences that read like a brief to a photographer or art director.
- Flux
- A detailed natural-language paragraph that front-loads the subject and puts any visible text in quotes.
- Stable Diffusion / SDXL
- Concise tags ordered by importance, followed by a separate negative prompt line.
How to use it
- Upload a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF image. It is resized to a maximum of 1024 pixels in your browser before it is sent.
- Choose the target model you plan to use.
- Optionally add changes, such as “make it night time” or “turn it into a watercolor”.
- Pick Text or JSON output and click Generate.
- Review the AI description and the final prompt, then copy or download it.
Example outputs
Here is how the same photo of a mountain lake at sunrise could be written for different models.
serene alpine lake at sunrise, mirror-still water reflecting jagged snow-capped peaks, pine trees silhouetted along the shore, thin mist drifting over the surface, soft pink and gold sky, wide-angle landscape photography, crisp detail, calm atmosphere --ar 3:2
A wide-angle landscape photograph of a still alpine lake at sunrise. Jagged snow-capped peaks are mirrored perfectly in the water, dark pine trees line the shore, and a thin layer of mist drifts across the surface. The sky glows soft pink and gold, and the overall mood is calm and quiet. 3:2 landscape format.
alpine lake, sunrise, mirror reflection, snow-capped mountains, pine trees, morning mist, pink and gold sky, landscape photography, wide angle, high detail, sharp focus Negative prompt: blurry, oversaturated, people, buildings, text, watermark, lowres
Tips for better results
- Use a clear, well-lit image. Tiny or very dark images give the vision model less to work with.
- Crop to the part you care about before uploading; the description focuses on what is visible.
- Use the extra instructions box to change one thing at a time while keeping the rest of the look.
- Treat the result as a strong draft. Re-run your image model a few times and adjust words that matter to you.
- For video, turn the prompt into a first frame, then animate it with our Runway or Kling prompt generators.
Good uses for image to prompt
- Building a consistent style: describe one reference image, then reuse its lighting and style phrases in new prompts.
- Learning prompt vocabulary: compare the AI description with the final prompt to see which words carry the look.
- Recreating your own past results when you have lost the original prompt.
- Creating alt text drafts or mood board notes from the description step.
- Preparing a first frame for image-to-video models such as Runway Gen-4 or Kling.
Limitations and privacy
The AI describes what it sees and can make mistakes, especially with small details, text and hands. It will not identify real people by name. Your image is resized in your browser and sent only for analysis; please avoid uploading private or sensitive images, and only upload pictures you have the right to use. A generated prompt will not reproduce an image exactly, because image models create new pictures every time.

Frequently asked questions
Is Image to Prompt free?
Yes. You can use it without an account, with a fair-use limit for anonymous visitors. Signing in increases the limit.
Which image models are supported?
You can choose Midjourney, Nano Banana (Gemini image), Flux, Stable Diffusion / SDXL, or a generic format that works in most tools.
Will the prompt recreate my image exactly?
No. AI image models generate a new image every time. A good prompt gets you close in subject, composition, lighting and style, but not a pixel-perfect copy.
Why is my image resized?
To keep uploads fast and within server limits, the image is scaled down to 1024 pixels on its longest side in your browser before upload. That is plenty for the AI to understand the scene.
What happens if the AI service is busy?
You will see a clear message and no made-up result. If the description succeeded but the final prompt failed, the description stays on screen so you can still use it.
Can I get the prompt in JSON?
Yes. Switch the output format to JSON to get labeled fields such as subject, lighting, style and aspect ratio.
Is there an Arabic version?
Yes. The Arabic version of Image to Prompt has an Arabic interface and can write the prompt in Arabic or English.
